Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Below are answers to the most common conference related questions.

When and where is the conference?

The 2019 Indiana Conference on Disability will take place November 17-19, 2019 at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott.

Who do I contact about my registration, scholarship, or access needs?

Please email:

Are scholarship recipients able to receive a free hotel room?

People with disabilities who have a limited income and receive SSI, SSDI or TANF can request that the Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities provide overnight accommodations when registering.

NOTE: Due to limited funding, scholarship recipients who are receiving overnight accommodations are asked to share a room with another scholarship recipient. Exceptions to the roommate policy are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Are scholarship recipients able to receive assistance with transportation to and from the conference?

Historically, the Governor’s Council contracted with a third-party to provide transportation for out-of-area scholarship recipients who were wheelchair users or were unable to drive themselves due to a medical condition. Unfortunately, that third-party transportation provider is unable to support the conference this year due to lack of capacity, and the limited number of alternative providers who are able to meet the Council’s needs means that we are unable to provide transportation assistance this year. We are exploring other options and will provide an update if new information becomes available.
